Balgownie Consultancy exists to make it simple for solicitors to gain the Management element of the Law Society of Scotland’s annual CPD requirement. 

In discussions with solicitors, it was clear that the Management element is difficult to attain.  Attainment was considered to be elusive in terms of a lack of available training locally.

Balgownie Consultancy’s proprietor, Mark McClelland-Jones, in conjunction with an Elgin-based solicitor, developed and delivered his first CPD seminar in 2007.  Mark now aims to provide CPD opportunities for solicitors in those parts of Scotland with little existing CPD provision, mainly in the North.
